Pittsburgh-raised Mother Returns Home for her First EQT Pittsburgh 10 Miler
While November 7 is far from being Kristin Snyder’s first time in Pittsburgh, it will be her first time back in the city she grew up to participate in the EQT Pittsburgh 10 Miler. The ‘homecoming’ race will be the first double-digit milestone for both Kristin and her son, Landen. Taking on the live start line together, this year’s event will mark the longest distance run since Kristin first found inspiration for running in early 2020.
Kristin’s running journey began nearly two years ago following her son’s first middle school cross-country season. Since then, Kristin has teamed up with her now 14-year-old son, Landen, to complete several 5Ks and, most recently, a dual 10K road and trail race. Running has created a shared hobby for the mother-son duo which has led to daily neighborhood runs and the desire to tackle new, longer distances together!
Hearing about the EQT Pittsburgh 10 Miler from a fellow runner and encouraging friend, Kristin knew this race would be the perfect opportunity to come back to the Steel City and take on a new distance alongside her son. Kristin currently lives with her husband and four children in Burgettstown and is excited to celebrate the greatness and uniqueness of her hometown with her son during their run this November.
“I’m excited for all of the Pittsburgh-themed miles of the race, so I can teach Landen about their significance to both the city and me,” said Kristin.
The Snyder family’s participation in their first-ever EQT Pittsburgh 10 Miler is a big part of their road to 13.1! The running duo will cross their first UPMC Health Plan Pittsburgh Half Marathon finish line this coming May.
“This will be the longest distance we’ve ever run consecutively, but working towards the half marathon is really what is motivating us!”
Let this year’s EQT Pittsburgh 10 Miler welcome YOU home and challenge you to take on new distances. Sign up the whole family HERE!
